All about Dogs, Gratitude

Everyone loves a little Biscuit

I’m back!!

It feels like years since I sat down and wrote anything new.

In my defence, I have been on holiday in South Africa for the last month…forcing me out of my room into the big wide world of human contact pretty much 24/7. It was amazing to see all my family and friends again, especially my gorgeous niece and nephews who are growing up so fast. Every time I go home I am reminded how much I hate being so far away from them, and how much I miss them.

Spending time with them is always very special.

I also got to see my favourite dog in the whole-wide-world, Biscuit.

Little known fact: Biscuit was the inspiration for me starting the dogsitting work 2 years ago. During my 2021 Christmas Holiday Biscuit and I bonded

So I could barely wait to get home and rekindle the love affair.

Alas, I was a little devastated to discover that Biscee seemed to have forgotten me completely.

The deep love we shared was apparently no more.

It appears these days Biscee only has eyes for my sister-in-law, Terry; following her around like a lovesick puppy.

His adoration for her is quite sweet really.

Especially when he seems to think he is her lap dog and insists on sitting on her lap 24/7.

I have honestly never seen a dog so besotted with a human being before.

Whenever Terry left the house I got to

be his NUMBER 2 favourite.

Although the majority of the time he was just staring into space with this abandoned look on his little doggy face, waiting for the return of his beloved NUMBER 1!

I did have one really cute moment when I had just gotten ready for a date

As I sat down to wait for my lift Biscee ran over and sat next to me almost as if he was trying to lay claim to me.

I am very grateful my brother, grabbed his phone and immortalized it in a picture for me!

FYI Date was pretty uneventful.

Dion’s profile said he was “Laid back and chilled guy with a cheeky glint in his eye.”

Dion was anything but.

He ordered a glass of water to drink.

When I inquired as to whether or not he was planning on eating anything his reply was a definite no.

So I ordered food and ate by myself… because frankly, I was hungry.

We kept the conversation going for an hour or so

but we had absolutely nothing in common and we both knew it.

It’s my own fault really…

I was so excited to have a real bonified date that I ignored my number one dating rule.

Dion and I did not!

This is progress people!

Overall it has been a lovely holiday …..

I am looking forward to 2024!

PS Biscee is still the absolute sweetest dog in the world!
