Day 41: Be Brave Challenge – For Love of Monkey

So today was DEFINITELY supposed to be my final post and I have honestly been working on it for the last 3 hours and I am all of a sudden ready for bed. πŸ˜³
So I think I am going to have to end my 40-day-challenge on the day 42 now. πŸ™ˆ Was wondering what I could put up…and then thought of my Monkey. A parent sent me these photos today and I just thought it was hilarious. Monkey lives in my class and my kids know how much I love this thing. (They also know that I stole him from my ex- boyfriend when we broke up in London years ago…I tell them I got custody😌) We have been through a lot. Monkey survived the Woodridge fire and was actually rescued by my

friend’s husband who was one of the volunteer firemen. I seriously thought he was a gonner until my friend messaged the attached picture to say he had been saved😁 She said her husband thought he looked like he might be important and had grabbed him. (Monkey just has that faceπŸ€—).

His best friends are Lion and Zebra (I have been told off by students for not using more creative names. πŸ˜±) He, unfortunately, had his heart broken when he fell for big pink monkey that another one of my students brought into school. (She left him and went home. I have been helping him through the heartache😭)

So one of the grade 4 girls that I work with wanted to take monkey home with her. (I was not to sure about this😰😬)
I decide to make a deal.
Me: “You do three weeks of absolutely loving fractions and you can take monkey.” ( this is no mean feat….this child seriously hates fractions.)
Child:” Deal!!!!!”
😱😱😱😱😱😱(what?????)

I have to admit, she stuck to her word.
Lots of big smiles and fake loving of fractions went on there. (But what do you know…she actually started to get themπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘πŸ’ͺ)

So Monkey had his first holiday. This child’s mum works with the rehabilitation of real baby monkeys and sent me these photos. She said poor Monkey was put in the cage and completely ignored. (The poor thing…he just wants to be loved you know πŸ™ˆ) The last photo is too scary for words ….seriously looks like he is about to be murdered or mugged.

So this is my Monkey Montage….I know you think he is “just” a Monkey….but he is my baby and seeing as I look through all your baby and cat photos I think you should make the effort.πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ (feel free to thumbs up Monkey- his fragile ego needs it)

And now I’m going to sleep.

Nite Nite
