Every Girl is Beautiful!

A few months ago I watched an interview with a mother who didn’t believe in telling her daughter she was beautiful. She felt very strongly that we live in a world that focuses too much on beauty and not enough on inner beauty. Her theory was sound….in all honesty she seemed like an amazing mother who was determined to raise a confident happy child building up all her other qualities and strengths. And maybe she will succeed in that. But it still made me a little sad, I couldn’t really help but feel like she was missing the point. We are all beautiful, no matter what we look like. Shouldn’t we rather be learning to see and celebrate the beauty in everyone rather than banning the word? This video for me is absolutely gorgeous …..it just shows how powerful our words can be if we choose to use then to build people up rather than tear them down.

“No matter how plain a woman may be, if truth and honesty are written across her face, she will be beautiful.”
