Forgiveness

(Written 26 February 2021)

A word

A feeling

A thought

So difficult to explain…

A word

A feeling

A thought

Intertwining with insidious shame…

Anger seethes like a dog gnaws a bone.

I say “I’m okay.” In my head, I throw stones.

Why was I born with a skin of cellophane?

Words burn through like acid,

I feel their pain.

Or maybe a better description yet

perhaps velcro would be a more accurate bet?

A word

A feeling

A thought

So difficult to explain.

Words stick with force.

They point, they mock.

They so viciously do blame…

What utter

was ever spoke?

Who came up with that garbage joke?

A word

A feeling

A thought

So difficult to explain.

But is it

of others, or simply myself?

Could harnessing the power of this word

bring the greatest of wealth?

A word

A feeling

A thought

So difficult to explain.
